Hay Fever Index
Hay fever is an allergy to pollen or fungal spores which causes your nose to run. It is the commonest allergy in the UK with about one in four of the population affected, and is most common in teenagers affecting one in three. The allergy is usually due to one particular type of pollen, and so the symptoms follow the seasonal pattern of when that pollen is released. The symptoms usually start with a runny nose, and this becomes blocked if the symptoms worsen. The eyes can also be affected and become itchy. A wide range of medicines and natural remedies are available to control the symptoms.
