Head Lice
Head lice are small insects that live on the scalp, and hide in the hair, living on blood which they get by biting through the scalp. They are very common, and all children catch them at one time or another by head to head contact with other children or from adults in their family. Head lice are quite at home in any sort of hair, either long or short, and the belief that they are associated with dirty hair is quite incorrect. They can be difficult to get rid of completely, and it is important to use the head lice products correctly, and to check the rest of the family using a detector comb.
